How to Tap Tempo in Logic Pro X | Hacked by tokeichun.Smart Tempo in Logic Pro X
There's a global Tap Tempo command you can assign and it works in conjunction with the project's sync settings and the Tempo Interpreter Window. Check page of the Logic 9 manual. Mac mini 3. I found that it's best to always enter the taps while logic is not playing. It didn't really follow the change of tempo of my taps if the project was already playing. Maybe this behavior can be change with one of the parameters in the tempo interpreter window most likely , but I didn't bother.
Oh yeah, and after your done setting the tempo, don't forget to set the sync mode back to internal I'd like to have a band play without a click track to make it more natural, but I wouldn't want to lose the time syncing abilities, like delay time and MIDI quantization Basically, when the band is recording, can I tape to the tempo of the band, and logic adjust through the song to my taps?
Set a tempo prior to recording and then beat map the performance afterward so that Logic's grid matches the timing of the performance. Beat Mapping. You can post now and register later. The bass is a good example of how Smart Tempo occasionally gets things wrong — largely because it perceives the downbeat as occurring on the start on the first bass note which is a reasonable assumption, to be fair.
In examples like this where you know the tempo, you can set it in manually towards the top of the Smart Tempo Editor. With the tempo correctly set, we can force to Downbeat using the small dot at the top of each beat division.
With the downbeat set at the beginning of the audio file, note how the off-beat bass now falls into line. As the bass is in a different key, we need to tune it to Cm using the Transposition feature into the Region Inspector.

Found something under general synchronization and tap tempo interpreter window but it only gives half the storymanual states : "You use the Tap Tempo command to generate tempo timing events, by literally tapping a computer or MIDI keyboard key. Open the Global Track keyboard shortcut G or the Tempo List editor to see the newly-created tempo grid for your project. Logic will create a new tempo event for each bar that the tempo changes.
You can, of course, work the other way around and have the imported takes match your existing Project Tempo. To try this, start by deleting all the newly-created tempo events using the Tempo List Editor.
